Chumleighland is on ten lovely wooded acres on scenic third world South Camano Island, with convenient access to the mainland by bridge via State Route 532. We are about an hour and a half north of Seattle. WA by car. We are one half mile from a secluded public access beach. Island County Public Transit has FREE service 5 days a week into Stanwood where you can catch an Amtrak train north or south, and Mt. Vernon Transit Center (Amtrak, Greyhound, Skagit Transit) to the north with connections to Bellingham and Whidbey Island. Our street corner is an Island Transit Bus stop. and there are a plethora of other buses to the south. We'll be happy to provide public transit directions, and if you're coming by train or bus we'll be happy to pick you up on the mainland in Stanwood at no charge. We strive to be TOTALLY GREEN in our operations. We compost and recycle whenever possible and ask you to do the same. Though we have our own excellent quality well, Camano Island is a Sole Source Aquifer and we request your aid in Conserving Water

We have a fourteen and sixteen foot tipi that can sleep a BUNCH of friends, and a number of tents. We have various tents that sleep a minimum of three people up to ten. We presently have one old school trailer with a small sink and propane stovetop with power. We can import more trailers for larger groups. We also have various air mattreses and campings pad. There are fire pits at (and fire wood provided in most cases). We have parking spots for rv's and trailers but can only supply limited power; NO sewage hookups. The outdoor kitchen has a full size fridge, space on a first come first serve basis. If you prefer to camp with your own equipment there are any number of places on the property you can set up. Please, CUT NO BRUSH without prior OK from the site manager. Unless you've made special arrangements, please bring your own bedding or sleeping bags.
Toilets are basic event style porta potties and we keep them pumped regularly. Hand washing sinks are outside the porta potties. Potable drinking water is available at the outdoor kitchen, where most meals provided for workshops are prepared. There is a four burner propane range, a wood cookstove, and a double sink with an outside faucet for public use. We have a small shower building and an on demand water heater. Camano Island Is a sole source aquifer and we join the rest of the island in conserving water. Please limit showers to five minutes.

We know rent Aluminum Canoes! Fishing tackle and crabbing rings are provided free with canoe rentals and both are 25% off if you're camping at Chumleighland. You must have a day or year long license which are obtainable at a number of places in Stanwood or on the Island. Cabellas, Fred Meyers, and Kmart all offer licensing services.
